The delivery situation in the United States is getting more and more severe, and sellers may face the negative impact of a large number of delayed delivery. Therefore, Amazon notified sellers yesterday to relax the delivery time limit of the SFP program to help more sellers tide over the epidemic.

According to internal news of Amazon disclosed by foreign media, Amazon is adjusting the delivery speed requirements for SFP sellers. After the update, sellers only need to guarantee 55% of the next day delivery time limit to maintain the eligibility of the SFP program.

SFP is what we commonly call Seller Delivery Prime. Self-delivery participating in this program can enjoy the "Prime" delivery mark and traffic tilt just like FBA products, provided that the delivery time is guaranteed.

When this epidemic caused serious distribution problems, the SFP sellers should be the most affected. Not only have to deal with customer complaints caused by delivery delays, but also face the danger of losing SFP qualifications. So this time Amazon's relaxation requirements are very timely, giving SFP sellers a certain amount of buffer space.

However, it should be noted that there will be a new change to be implemented in the SFP plan. Starting in February, SFP sellers need to provide delivery services on Saturdays, and they must also be included in the next day delivery rate aging. This change will still take effect as scheduled, especially the Spring Festival next month. Sellers participating in the SFP program must pay attention to setting the delivery time in advance, otherwise the holiday mode will be used.

In the past two days, Amazon has made a lot of actions. In addition to relaxing the delivery requirements for sellers above, it also carried out the first major purchase in the history of Amazon Logistics, and bought 11 Boeing 767s as cargo planes in one go!

First purchase of cargo aircraft in FBA history

Yesterday, Amazon announced that it has bought 11 second-hand Boeing 767 aircraft from Delta Air Lines and WestJet, which will be added to the cargo fleet of its own logistics business after a brief modification and renovation.

Although Amazon already has a large cargo fleet, before this purchase, all aircraft in the fleet were leased. This purchase is the first time in Amazon's history that the aircraft has been officially purchased for personal use. It is of great significance.

Amazon said that consumers have higher and higher expectations for expected delivery time, and its own transport aircraft will make Amazon more convenient to manage and improve transportation efficiency. These new cargo aircraft will greatly increase the self-operated physical air transport capacity and slow down the delivery delays during the epidemic.

However, some people in the industry believe that Amazon's purchase is very likely not just to transport packages! If it is only for shipping goods, then leasing is completely competent. Under what circumstances would I choose to buy instead of rent? It must be that Amazon is preparing to modify or test these aircraft on a large scale. This kind of leased aircraft will definitely not work, so it can only be bought.

Combined with Amazon's recent acquisition of the autonomous driving system startup Zoox, and also obtained the Federal Aviation Administration's drone operation approval, it seems that Amazon is likely to make a big move in unmanned driving!

In the long run, this kind of unmanned cargo aircraft logistics method will definitely have big advantages in cost and operation and maintenance for traditional logistics providers such as UPS and the Federal.

This will allow Amazon to further feed the food market. As Amazon strengthens its control over the entire logistics chain and terminates its relationship with companies such as FedEx and UPS, the Amazon platform has already contracted more than half of the packages in the United States. Although Amazon is still cooperating with third parties for delivery of these packages, In the future, this huge market is likely to be swallowed by Amazon alone, and then our sellers' platform delivery costs may undergo a huge change.

Although it will be an action to subvert the logistics industry, at least this year we will not see the effect of this driverless, so everyone has to deal with delivery delays in the near future.
