Amazon issued an announcement that it will charge the 2022 Holiday Peak Fulfillment Fee during the peak season.
The specific time is from October 15, 2022 to January 14, 2023, involving products sold using Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) in the United States and Canada, and the fee is an average of 35 cents per item.
Amazon says the fee adjustments can have a significant impact on a seller's business. For this reason, Amazon has taken steps to help sellers reduce costs through fee waivers and discount programs. for example:
Sales Rebate: Beginning March 1, 2022, Amazon will offer a 5% sales rebate for a specified period of time for a specified number of eligible new FBA parent ASINs. This offer is available to sellers who have completed Amazon Brand Registry.
Inventory fee waiver: The first new seller with an ASIN available for purchase on or after January 1, 2022 will ship the product to an Amazon fulfillment center within 12 months of posting the first ASIN available for purchase, i.e. Get $100 off Amazon partnered carrier fees, or $200 off Amazon fulfillment center fulfillment fees.
It is understood that other logistics carriers in the United States have also begun to charge holiday peak delivery fees one after another.
On August 10, the United States Postal Service (USPS) announced an increase in domestic shipping rates for the 2022 holiday season, and the price increase will apply from October 2, 2022 to January 21, 2023, CST.
FedEx will increase its additional processing surcharge on Sept. 5, which applies to FedEx packages and U.S. and international ground services, and will increase again on Oct. 3 through Jan. 15, 2023.
