As we all know, Amazon Japan has encountered a shock recently, and the source of this shock can be started from the "reverse calculation". Starting from April 1 this year, the Japanese Customs announced that it would impose a reverse calculation method to collect tariffs on goods exported to Japan. Opinions were divergent for a while, and the threshold for the Japanese market with unlimited development potential suddenly increased, making many Chinese buyers daunt and hesitate.

What is inverse calculation?

The so-called reverse calculation means reverse calculation. Starting from April 1, Japanese customs began to impose tariffs on Chinese e-commerce goods through reverse calculation. The inverse algorithm is adopted to collect tariffs. At this stage, the tax calculation method is generally based on Amazon's selling price, deducting all the fees and commissions in the ASIN, which is equal to the amount declared by the seller. Originally, taxes were declared at 30% of the purchase cost or selling price. After reverse calculation, the declared price of the goods was about 50%-80% of the selling price, and the taxes and fees were much higher than the tax paid in the original declaration method.
