To sum up, Amazon stated in the announcement that sellers are strictly prohibited from purchasing products from suppliers and delivering them directly to customers if the following conditions are met.


There is no sign of the seller in the self-delivery package to prove the identity of the seller.


2. In the delivery package, any retailer's mark other than the seller appears on the packing list, invoice or outer packaging.


At the same time, the seller cannot deliver shipments with packing lists, packaging, invoices, or other information that is incorrect with the seller's true information (which may cause consumers to have no way to return the goods).


If the seller needs to use the drop shipping model to sell (that is, what we call the supplier one-on-one), it must ensure that the seller is always the responsible party for the registration of the product, and the seller must have its own label and information on the product to ensure the information While true and effective, no other person’s information, including other retailers’ logos, names, etc. can appear.

The drop shipping model has the advantages of light capital and does not require too much capital pressure. If you find a good supplier and product, it will be very worry-free.


Just do a good listing. However, the disadvantages are also very obvious. The upstream is easy to be caught by the supplier, and it is difficult to make a difference in the product with limited profits. However, it can be regarded as a model recognized by Amazon, and many sellers who are just getting started with insufficient funds will also choose this model to start.


After the introduction of the new regulations, if you can negotiate with the supplier, if the volume is not large, the supplier is not willing to cooperate, the seller must check before shipping and remove the supplier's label and information before sending it. This greatly increases transportation and labor costs.


And this new policy is not only a problem for drop shipping sellers, but brand sellers with self-delivery orders may also be affected.


The new policy affects the entire self-delivery gameplay?


First of all, drop shipping is not a unique model of Amazon. Drop shipping is very common in the entire e-commerce industry. Amazon has no effective means to distinguish whether the shipment sent by the seller's self-delivery order is sent on behalf of the seller or its own brand. And unlike FBA products, Amazon has no way to spot check on self-delivered shipments.


Then Amazon can only judge whether drop shipping sellers have violated the above new regulations through customer feedback. Therefore, if Amazon receives a complaint of “brand or information inconsistency” after the new regulations, the review and punishment will be very strong. Judging from the content of the regulations, the seller’s self-delivery sales rights may be directly removed.


Similarly, if a brand seller’s self-delivery order receives such a complaint, it will definitely be dealt with seriously. Including some sellers who do drop-shipping in overseas warehouses, if they leave some factory information and logo on it when ordering at the factory, it will be troublesome to be found by Amazon.


The advantage of a drop shipping is low because of the low threshold and the need for less funds. Small sellers use the advantages of small sellers. After the New Deal, in order to avoid violations, sellers must pay more, so the advantage of drop shipping is very small. For some low-unit-price products, the logistics cost of coming and going may be higher than the product itself. Therefore, dealers with small quantities may have to consider transforming or reducing costs elsewhere.
