It is reported that a few days ago, Sea-Intelligence announced the latest (May 2022) shipping schedule rankings of the world's major shipping companies.
The data shows that the average punctuality rate of the major shipping companies in May increased by 2.1 percentage points month-on-month to 36.4%; however, it still decreased by 2.3 percentage points year-on-year. This means that on-time rates for each of the first five months of 2022 will be slightly lower than 2021 levels.
The latest data shows that in May, only two carriers had a schedule over 40% on-time rate, Maersk 50.3% and Maersk's Hamburg Süd 43.7%.
There are six shipping companies with a punctuality rate of 30%-40%, and six companies with a 20%-30% rate.
In May 2022, again, many shipping companies are very close in terms of schedule punctuality, with 11 shipping companies within 7 percentage points of the gap.
Wan Hai has the lowest schedule reliability in May 2022 at 22.1%.
On a Y/Y level, in May 2022, only four of the top 14 airlines have improved schedule reliability, with Maersk showing the largest increase of 4.4 percentage points.

Affected by factors such as the continued strong demand for international container transportation and the obstruction of the logistics supply chain caused by the global spread of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the supply side still has the problem of insufficient transportation capacity, and the pressure on the supply chain is still at a historically high level. Considering the extremely volatile environment, it is expected that the supply chain this year The blocking problem will not be significantly alleviated.
While weaker demand in some regions will ease pressure on supply chains, they will remain strained throughout the year in the face of large backlogs of goods to be shipped.
