Amazon UK announced an increase in multi-channel delivery fees, which will take effect on November 12!

This morning (September 14th), Amazon officially issued an announcement announcing that the Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) fees for the UK station will be revised on November 12, 2022. Simply put, from November 12, the multi-channel delivery fee for each size will increase, including fuel and inflation surcharges.

In its announcement, Amazon said the update to Multi-Channel Fulfillment fees reflects rising fulfillment and shipping costs brought on by recent global economic challenges and helps Amazon continue to provide sellers with the delivery speed, reliability and quality of service sellers expect: 1 .On-time delivery rate of over 99%; 2. Further enhancing capacity to fulfillment centres to help meet growing demand; 3. Launch of unbranded packaging in the UK, now available at no additional cost.

At the same time, in response to seller feedback, Amazon will introduce multi-item discounts, which allow sellers to ship multiple items at more affordable unit prices. On average, 25.2% of the cost can be saved.

Amazon explained in its announcement that throughout the pandemic, Amazon has worked hard to delay and minimize fee changes, absorbing billions of dollars in new costs in the process. Costs are rising, as sellers have seen in the media, and the adjusted multi-channel fulfillment fee will help Amazon offset the continued rise in operating costs.

Specifically, fuel and inflation surcharges will be charged as a percentage of the seller's fulfillment fee. For example, a standard envelope with a standard speed and weight of 60 grams, when it is delivered to the UK, the freight is calculated as £3.27X1.043, and the total freight is £3.41.

As for whether sellers are most concerned about whether and when the increased multi-channel delivery fees will be adjusted back, Amazon did not respond positively in the announcement, but only stated that all shipping providers usually change their fees every year. Amazon It will continue to review its fee structure, and Amazon will provide public notice at least 30 days in advance if other changes are required.

In fact, I believe that the news of the addition of fuel and inflation surcharges in the UK station, I believe that all of you, like Lao Chen, are not surprised. After all, since the beginning of this year, Amazon's US and European stations have raised related fees several times. Although Amazon is passing on costs to sellers, the increase in costs caused by inflation has indeed been reflected in various aspects. As a seller, what needs to be done is to further improve the cost control level. In addition, if the cost rises too obviously, it is not unreasonable to appropriately increase the price according to the category environment.
